Kinetic

NTSC/4:3/TRT 45:00/Color/1999

Told with almost dialogue, Kinetic is an existential drama about two strangers compelled to find each other. As elements of their personalities, and the events in their lives, begin to align, they become increasingly aware of each other’s presence. Shot all over Los Angeles, and drawing endlessly on that city’s unique energy, Kinetic also pulls inspiration from the work of two of Morrow’s favorite filmmakers, with specific thematic and aesthetic allusions to Krzysztof Kieslowski’s The Double Life of Veronique and Tom Tykwer’s Run Lola Run. The film is ultimately about existential motion, about hurtling uncontrollably forward on a metaphysical plane.
