Forest of Sorrows is a dance film that plays with the artificiality of the theatrical performance by mixing the traditional dance film approach, which documents the dance in a straightforward manner, with a more abstract approach, in which the director shoots through, or across, the dance. The film was shot in a theater at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. The song, “Forest of Sorrows”, is by Australian artist Johanna and the Dusty Floor, and is available on her albums The Forest EP and Northern Lights. Choreography was by Rachel Ross.
